A mixture of 0.80 g (2.70 mmol) of 1-cyclopropyl-6,7,8-trifluoro-1,4-dihydro-5-methyl-4-oxo-3-quinolinecarboxylic acid, 0.41 g (3.20 mmol) of N-ethyl-3-pyrrolidinemethanamine, 0.82 g (8.10 mmol) of triethylamine, and 25 mL of acetonitrile was refluxed for 4 hours, then stirred at room temperature overnight. The precipitate was collected by filtration, washed with acetonitrile and ether, and dried to give 0.90 g of the title compound, mp 198°-199° C.
