A suspension of 0.70 g (2.50 mmol) of 1-cyclopropyl-6,7-difluoro-1,4-dihydro-5-methyl-4-oxo-3-quinolinecarboxylic acid, 0.86 g (10.0 mmol) of anhydrous piperazine and 20 mL of acetonitrile was refluxed for 5 hours, then stirred at room temperature overnight.
