2,6-Dimethylphenylisocyanate (1.5 g) was added dropwise to a solution of N-isopropylhexahydropyrimidine (1.3 g) in acetonitrile (5 ml) (exothermic). After cooling the title compound was isolated by filtration and recrystallised from acetonitrile (2,5 g, 89%), mp 138°-139° C.
