A mixture of 3.8 parts of 3,4-pyridinediamine, 13.1 parts of 3-(2-ethoxyethyl) -2-[[4-(2-isothiocyanatoethyl)-1-piperazinyl]methyl]-3Himidazo[4,5-b]-pyridine and 135 parts of tetrahydrofuran was stirred overnight at reflux temperature. The whole was evaporated, yielding 16.9 parts (100%) of N-(4-amino-3-pyridinyl)-N'-[2-[4-[[3-(2-ethoxyethyl)-3H-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridin-2-yl]methyl]-1-piperazinyl]ethyl]thiourea as a residue (compound 122).
