Procedure
Following the procedure described in Preparation IVc and starting from 8 g (0.0274 mol) of 4-(2-hydroxy-5-trifluoromethylbenzoyl)benzonitrile, 1.97 g (0.035 mol) of potassium hydroxide and 4.1 g (0.033 mol) of dimethylthiocarbamoyl chloride, an amount of 8.1 g of the expected product (yield: 77.9%) is obtained after purification by flash chromatography using a hexane/ethyl acetate mixture (5/1 v/v) as the eluent.
