Procedure
4,4-Dipropylcyclohexane-1,1 diacetic acid, prepared as described in Example 18, was dissolved in acetic anhydride and refluxed for 1-6h. The excess acetic anhydride was removed by distillation under reduced pressure and the residue was recrystallized form hexanes; m.p. 91-93° ; yield 90-95%.
Workup
- temperaturerefluxed for 1-6h
- customThe excess acetic anhydride was removed by distillation under reduced pressure
- customthe residue was recrystallized form hexanes
