1.2 g (10 mmol) of the potassium salt of 1-hydroxy-1,2,4-triazole were dissolved in 100 ml of dimethylformamide and the solution was added at room temperature to a solution of 4.0 g (10 mmol) of 1-bromo-1-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-butane in 50 ml of dimethylformamide. 0.1 g of potassium iodide was added to the mixture, which was refluxed for 10 minutes. Thereafter, the solvent was removed under reduced pressure, the residue was taken up in ether and the solution was washed three times with water. After the organic phase had been dried with Na2SO4, the solvent was removed under reduced pressure.
