An amount of 50 mg (0.117 mmole) of 47a was dissolved in 500 μL, of MeOH, 1 ml of morpholine and 512 mg (6.203 mmole) of NaHCO3. The mixture was heated to 80° C. for 1 hr to give 5-(2-Bromo-5-fluoro-phenyl)-1,3-dimethyl-7-morpholin-4-yl-2,4-dioxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine-6-carbonitrile (47b).
