To a solution of methyl (2,5-dioxo-5,6-dihydro-4H-imidazo[1,5,4-de]quinoxalin-1(2H)-yl)acetate from Step C (367 mg, 1.40 mmol) in MeOH (40 mL) and CH3CN (5 mL) was added 1.0 N sodium hydroxide (2.82 mL, 2.82 mmol) and the reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 18 h. The mixture was neutralized with 1 N aqueous HCl and concentrated in vacuo to give the title compound. MS: m/z=248 (M+1).
