Procedure

The ethyl 5-fluoro-1-[2-[(5-methylpyridin-2-yl)oxy]-ethyl]-1H-indole-2-carboxylate intermediate is prepared in a manner similar to the method described in Example 18.1, from ethyl 5-fluoro-1H-indole-2-carboxylate and 2-(5-methylpyridin-2-yloxy)ethanol prepared in the preceding step.
