Procedure

5 mmol of N-methylmorpholine and 2.5 mmol of 4-methoxyphenylsulphonyl chloride are added at 0° C. to a solution of 2.5 mmol of the compound obtained in Step A in 15 ml of dichloromethane. After stirring for 12 hours at ambient temperature, the reaction mixture is poured into water and then extracted with dichloromethane. The combined organic phases are washed with a 2N hydrochloric acid solution, then with a 5% solution of NaHCO3, and then with water. After drying over sodium sulphate, filtration and evaporation, chromatography on silica gel (dichloromethane/methanol: 20/1) allows the expected product to be isolated.
