Reaction Steps

This compound was prepared by reaction of 110 mg (0.5 mmol) of 7-amino-4-chloro-3-methoxyisocoumarin with 60 mg (0.5 mmol) of phenyl isocyanate at room temperature in CH2Cl2 for 24 h. After standard work-up, this isocoumarin was obtained as yellow crystals; mp 203°-204° C.; MS, m/e 344 (M+). Anal. Calc. for C17H13ClN2O4 : C, 59.23; H, 3.08; N, 8.13; Cl, 10.28. Found: C, 59.28; H, 3.82; N, 8.11; Cl, 10.35.
