2 g. (+)-laudanosine (Eur. J. Med. Chem., 9, 237/1974) is reacted, in the manner described in Example 1, with 1.73 g. vanadyl (V) fluoride in trifluoroacetic acid. After analogous working up and crystallisation from diethyl ether, there is obtained (+)-4-hydroxy-1,2,9,10-tetramethoxyaporphine (cataline) in the form of colourless crystals; m.p. 180° - 182° C.;
