A solution of (863) (0.054 g, 0.167 mmol) prepared as described in example 444 in a methanol:tetrahydrofuran mixture (1:1, 4 mL) was hydrogenated over Raney nickel (100 mg) and hydrogen. The product was purified by column chromatography using a gradient of 0–100% ethyl acetate in dichloromethane to give (864) (0.032 g, 59%). 1H NMR δ [(CD3)2SO] 9.65 (s, 1H), 7.92 (m, 1H), 7.56 (d, J=3.0 Hz, 1H), 7.43 (m, 3H), 6.96 (d, J=2.5 Hz, 1H), 2.90 (q, 2H), 1.5 (t, 3H).
