Reaction Steps
Added 4M HCl/dioxane (15 ml) to a solution of 4-(5-Nitro-pyridin-2-yl)-piperazine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (2.3 g, 7.46 mmol) in MeCl2 (20 ml) at room temperature. Reaction was stirred for 3 hours and solvent was evaporated yielding the product as hydrochloride salt 1-(5-Nitro-pyridin-2-yl)-piperazine hydrochloride 8 (2.2 g)
