tert-Butyl 4-(1-methoxy-1-methylethyl)-2,2-dimethyl-1,3-oxazolidine-3-carboxylate (2.5 g) obtained in Example 73a) was dissolved in methanol (45 ml), p-toluenesulfonic acid monohydrate (0.18 g) was added thereto, and mixed at room temperature for 20 minutes. The solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure, and the residue was diluted with ethyl acetate, washed with a saturated aqueous sodium hydrogen carbonate solution and dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate. The solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure to obtain the title compound as a colorless solid (2.1 g, 95%).
