Procedure
6-(1-Benzyl-3-pyrrolidinyl)-1,2-dihydro-3H-imidazo[1,5-a]imidazol-3-one (2.7 g) obtained in Example 87a), ammonium formate (1.8 g) and 10% palladium carbon (0.54 g) suspended in methanol (100 ml), and heated under reflux for 2 hours. After cooling to room temperature, the precipitate was filtered using Celite, and then the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure. To the residue was added a mixed solvent (ethyl acetate:chloroform=5:1), the precipitate was filtered off, and then the filtrate was further concentrated to obtain the title compound as a pale yellow solid (1.4 g, 78%).
