Procedure
A solution of 1-(4-fluorobenzyl)-5-{2-[methoxy(methyl)amino]ethyl}piperazine-2-one (784 mg, 2.65 mmol) in anhydrous CH2Cl2 (13 mL) was treated with isopropyl isocyanate (391 μL, 3.98 mmol) and stirred under inert atmosphere at ambient temperature for 18 h. The solvent was removed in vacuo, and the resulting oil was purified by silica gel chromatography (EtOAc to 5% MeOH/EtOAc to 10% MeOH/EtOAc) to afford the title urea as a light orange oil.
