Reaction Steps
A mixture of 2-fluorophenyl 2-methoxy-3-methylphenyl ether (11.5 g), N-bromosuccinimide (9 g) and azobisisobutyronitrile (0.9 g) in benzene (100 ml) was treated in a similar manner to that of Example 5-(3) to give oily 2-fluorophenyl 2-methoxy-3-bromomethylphenyl ether (17.6 g).
