Procedure
13.3 g 2-isopropylthio-5-isopropylsulfonyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole are dissolved in 50 ml dichloromethane and to the solution is added drop by drop at 10° to 15° C. under agitation and cooling a solution of 8.63 g m-chloroperbenzoic acid in 200 ml dichloromethane. The reaction mixture is stirred for another thirty minutes, then extracted with aqueous soda ash solution for removing the m-chlorobenzoic acid, the organic phase is separated and dried with magnesium sulfate. After distilling off the solvent a residue is obtained, which is recrystallized from acetonitrile.
