N-[5-(5-ethyl-2-thienyl)thiophene-2-sulfonyl]pyrrole was prepared in the same manner as described in Example 32C from 2-ethylthiophene-5-boronic acid (411 mg, 2.64 mmol) and N-(5-bromothiophene-2-sulfonyl)pyrrole (700 mg, 2.39 mmol). Purification by column chromatography using 2% ethyl acetate/hexanes gave 630 mg of the pure product as a dark brown solid (90% yield).
