4-Hydroxypyrazole (1.16 g, 13.8 mmol) and imidazole (1.13g, 16.6 mmol) were suspended in DMF (50 ml) under nitrogen and t-butyldimethylsilylchloride (2.3 g, 15.2 mmol) was added. After stirring 17 hours, the solvent was removed in vacuo and the residue treated with water containing 4.5 g of potassium carbonate. The mixture was extracted with two portions of chloroform and the organic layer dried over sodium sulfate. The solvent was removed in vacuo to yield product (2.58 g, 94%). NNR
