Procedure
3-(4-((3S)-3-t-Butoxycarbonylamino-1-pyrrolidinyl)-3-fluorophenyl)-5(R)-(isoxazol-3-yloxymethyl)oxazolidin-2-one (2.1 g, 4.54 mmol) was suspended by stirring in dichloromethane (10 ml) under nitrogen and treated with a solution of hydrogen chloride in ethanol (4M, 50 ml) at ambient temperature. The mixture was stirred 1 hour, evaporated to a small volume, and treated with a mixture of dichloromethane (30 ml) and diethyl ether (30 ml). The precipitate was filtered and washed with diethyl ether to give the title compound as its hydrochloride (2.0 g).
