To a solution of 2-amino-1-[4-(4-fluoro-benzyl)-(2R,5S)-2,5-dimethyl-piperazin-1-yl]-ethanone (0.27 g, 0.97 mmol) in acetonitrile (5 mL) was added 2,5-dichloro-nicotinic acid methyl ester (0.20 g, 0.97 mmol) and triethylamine (0.135 mL, 0.97 mmol). The reaction was refluxed for 2 hours. The reaction was concentrated and purified by chromatography on silica gel to give the title compound (0.16 g).
