To a solution of (7-bromo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-naphthalen-2-yl)-propyl-amine (536 mg, 2 mmol) and 1-methanesulfonyl-piperidine-4-carboxaldehyde (458 mg, 2.47 mmol) in dichloroethane (10 mL) was added sodium triacetoxyborohydride (551 mg, 2.6 mmol) in a single portion. The reaction was stirred at room temperature for 24 h. The reaction was concentrated in vacuo and partitioned between EtOAc (75 mL) and 5% aq. KOH (75 mL). The organic layer was dried (MgSO4), filtered, and concentrated to afford (7-bromo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-naphthalen-2-yl)-(1-methanesulfonyl-piperidin-4-ylmethyl)-propyl-amine (857 mg) 111 [M+H]+=444.
