Procedure

To an ice-cold solution of 4-{[(7-hydroxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-naphthalen-2-yl)-propyl-amino]-methyl}-piperidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester, prepared as described in Example 8, (1.0 g, 2.48 mmol) and triethylamine (0.52 mL, 2.73 mmol) in methylene chloride (75 mL) under an inert atmosphere 3,5-dimethyl-isoxazole-4-sulfonyl chloride (535 mg, 2.73 mmol) was added dropwise. The reaction was allowed to warm to room temperature and stirred for 24 h. The reaction was quenched with water and the methylene chloride layer was separated, dried (MgSO4), and concentrated to afford 4-({[7-(3,5-dimethyl-isoxazole-4-sulfonyloxy)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-naphthalen-2-yl]-propyl-amino}-methyl)-piperidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (1.16 g).
