To a solution of 4-({[7-(3,5-dimethyl-isoxazole-4-sulfonyloxy)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-naphthalen-2-yl]-propyl-amino}-methyl)-piperidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (1.16 g, 2.1 mmol) in methylene chloride (30 mL) under a nitrogen atmosphere was added trifluoroacetic acid (10 mL). The reaction was stirred at room temperature for 30 min. and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was partitioned between EtOAc (50 mL) and 10% aq. KOH (50 mL). The organic layer was separated, dried over MgSO4, filtered, and concentrated to afford 3,5-dimethyl-isoxazole-4-sulfonic acid 7-(piperidin-4-ylmethyl-propyl-amino)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-naphthalen-2-yl ester (847 mg).
