Procedure
A solution of phenyl 3,4-dihydro-spiro[2H-1-benzopyran-2,1′-cyclobutan]-4-ylcarbamate (1 mmol) and 2-(amino methyl)pyridine (1 mmol) in dimethylsulfoxide was stirred at room temperature in the presence of a base such as triethylamine (2 mmol). Few drops of water were added in the reaction mixture. Product precipitated out, was filtered and washed with water. It was then purified by column chromatography to afford the desired urea as a white solid.
