Procedure
A solution of 1-(5-hydroxy-pyrimidin-2-yl)-4,4-dimethyl-piperidine-2,6-dione (0.60 g, 2.55 mmol), N-methyl-N-phenylcarbamoyl chloride (0.48 g, 2.81 mmol) and 1,4-diazabicyclo-[2,2,2]octane (0.31 g, 2.81 mmol) in dichloromethane (25 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 15 minutes. The solvent was evaporated in vacuo and the residue was purified by flash column chromatography (SiO2, ethyl acetate:heptane 50:50), yielding the title compound as a white solid.
