Procedure
A suspension of 7-bromo4-chlorothieno[3,2-d]pyrimidine (159, 80 mg, 0.32 mmol) and hydrazine monohydrate (0.2 mL, 4.1 mmol) in ethanol (1.3 mL) was heated at reflux for 2 hour. After cooling to room temperature, the solid product was collected by vacuum filtration to give (7-bromothieno[3,2-d]pyrimidin-4-yl)hydrazine hydrochloride (57 mg, 73% yield) as a white solid.
