Procedure
Hydrazine monohydrate (0.92 g, 1.8 mmol) was added to a suspension of 2-(3,3-bis-methylsulfanyl-acryloyl)-5-ethyl-7,7-dimethyl-1-(tetrahydro-pyran-2-yl)-5,7-dihydro-1H-imidazo[4,5-f]indol-6-one (0.68 g, 1.81 mmol) in acetonitrile (15 mL) and stirred for 24 h. After cooling to room temperature the precipitate was collected, washed with acetonitrile and ether to yield 0.5 g (81%) of a pale white powder.
