(S)-benzyl 2-(tert-butoxycarbonylamino)-4-(difluoromethoxy)butanoate (161 mg, 0.448 mmol) was stirred in 30% TFA in dichloromethane (5 mL) for 1 h. The resulting mixture was concentrated down on rotovap and redissolved and concentrated down with toluene three times, and finally the residue was dried on high vacuum pump. The desired product was used as-is in the next step.
