A mixture of 4-(4-tert-Butyldiphenylsilyloxymethylimidazol-1-yl-methyl)benzoic acid methyl ester (1.6 g, 3.3 mmol) and tetrabutylammonium fluoride 1M in THF (3.3 ml, 3.3 mmol) in THF (10 ml) was stirred under argon at room temperature for 2 h. Water (15 ml) was added, the mixture was extracted with AcOEt, the organic phase washed with water, brine and dried over MgSO4.
