Procedure
In a flame dried round-bottomed flask equipped with a magnetic stir bar and under inert atmosphere (N2), a solution of this crude 2-(5,5-difluoro-hexyl)-oxazole-4-carbonyl chloride was dissolved in dry acetone (12.0 mL). The solution was cooled to 0° C. and a solution of sodium azide (196 mg, 2.98 mmol) in H2O (1.4 mL) was added dropwise. The reaction mixture was stirred at 0° C. for 45 min. The mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure, and the residue was dissolved in CH2Cl2 and filtered. The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to give the title compound as a brown solid. LC-MS-conditions 02: tR=0.98 min, [M+H]+=259.09.
