Procedure
To a round bottom flask containing 8-(1H-Pyrazol-4-yl)-2-[2-(2,2,2-trifluoro-ethyl)-2H-[1,2,4]triazol-3-yl]-4,5-dihydro-6-oxa-3-thia-1-aza-benzo[e]azulene (0.200 g, 0.000478 mol) in methylene chloride (3 mL, 0.05 mol) and chloroform (2 mL, 0.02 mol) was added triethylamine (0.080 mL, 0.00057 mol) and methanesulfonyl chloride (0.088 mL, 0.00114 mol). The reaction was stirred at 40° C. for 6 h. The mixture was washed with water followed by brine, dried with MgSO4 and concentrated. The crude was loaded as a solid onto silica gel and purified by flash chromatography (1-10% MeOH in DCM) followed by reverse-phase HPLC to give 238 (16.5 mg) as a colorless solid. MS (ESI+) 497.0. 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO) δ 8.88 (s, 1H), 8.56 (s, 1H), 8.33 (d, J=8.3, 1H), 8.30 (s, 1H), 7.65 (dd, J=8.3, 1.6, 1H), 7.55 (d, J=1.5, 1H), 5.86 (q, J=8.7, 2H), 4.42 (t, J=4.9, 2H), 3.58 (s, 3H), 3.49 (t, J=4.9, 2H)
