Reaction Steps

A solution of 1.79 mmol of N-tert-Butyl-4-(5,6-dihydro-imidazo[1,5-a]pyridin-8-yl)-benzamide hydrochloride in 8 ml of ethanol is mixed with 270 mg of 10% Pd/C, and the reaction mixture is then hydrogenated at 20-25° C. under atmospheric pressure for 8 hours. The reaction mixture is clarified by filtration and the filtrate is evaporated. The crude title compound is obtained as a brown solid. Rf=0.35 (toluene:methanol=85:15), Rt=5.54.
