To a solution of [1-(4-chlorobenzyl)-2-oxo-2-(4-thieno[3,2-d]pyrimidin-4-yl-piperazin-1-yl)-ethyl]-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester in DCM (2 mL) was added HCl in Dioxane (4M, 1 mL). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 4 hours. The solvent was removed to afford 2-amino-3-(4-chlorophenyl)-1-(4-thieno[3,2-d]pyrimidin-4-yl-piperazin-1-yl)-propan-1-one dihydrochloride quantitatively. MS (ESI+) [M+H]+ 402.
