To a solution of 4-(5,6,7,8-Tetrahydro-pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4-yl)-piperazine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (0.88 g, 2.75 mmol) in DCM (10 mL) was added HCl in dioxane (4M, 5 mL). The mixture was stirred at RT for 4 hours. The solvent was removed to give 4-Piperazin-1-yl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine as HCl salt (0.80 g, 99%). MS (APCI+) [M+H]+220.
