To a solution of (1R,6S)-tert-butyl 8-(6-methylpyridin-2-yl)-3,8-diazabicyclo[4.2.0]octane-3-carboxylate (80 mg, 0.26 mmol) in DCM (5 mL) was added TFA (2 mL). The resulting mixture was allowed to stir at ambient temperature. After 16 h the mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure. The resulting trifluoroacetic acid salt of the title compound (80 mg) was used without further purification. MS (ESI) mass calcd. for C12H17N3, 203.2; m/z found, 204.1 [M+H]+.
