A solution of (1R,6S)-tert-butyl 8-(4-(dimethylamino)pyridin-2-yl)-3,8-diazabicyclo[4.2.0]octane-3-carboxylate (150 mg, 0.45 mmol) in DCM (5 mL) was added TFA (2 mL). The resulting mixture was allowed to stir at ambient temperature. After 16 hours the crude mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure. The resulting trifluoroacetic acid salt of the title compound was used without further purification. MS (ESI) mass calcd. for C13H20N4, 232.2; m/z found, 233.2 [M+H]+.
