Triethylamine (750 μl, 5.15 mmol, 3 eq) was added at 0° C. to a solution of (R)-methyl 3-amino-2,3-dihydro-1H-indene-5-carboxylate (A-07) (1.72 mmol, 1 eq) in dichloromethane (10 ml), and stirring was carried out for 10 min. A solution of 2-methylpropane-1-sulfonyl chloride (404 mg, 2.58 mmol, 1.5 eq), dissolved in dichloromethane (5 ml), was added dropwise, and stirring was carried out for 16 h at RT. After monitoring by thin-layer chromatography, the reaction solution was concentrated under reduced pressure and the residue was purified by column chromatography (silica gel, 30% ethyl acetate in hexane). The desired product was obtained in the form of a white solid. Yield: 93% (500 mg, 1.6 mmol).
