A solution of 2-(2,4-difluorophenyl)-3-(pyrimidin-4-yl)-1-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)butan-2-ol (diastereoisomeric pair B from Example 3) (3.31 g) and 85% w/w 3-chloroperoxybenzoic acid (2.03 g) in dichloromethane (20 ml) was stirred at room temperature for 48 hours. An additional 2.03 g of 85% w/w 3-chloroperoxybenzoic acid was added and stirring was continued for a further 18 hours. Work up as described in Example 15(i) gave the title compound, (0.80 g), m.p. 157°-160°.
