4.0 g of ethyl α-[2-chloro-4-(2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-5-methyl-3-oxo-1,2,4-triazin-6-yl)phenoxy]acetate (prepared as described in Example 5) and 1.59 g of N-(2-aminoethyl)piperazine were added to 50 ml of ethanol, and the mixture was heated under reflux for 60 hours. The mixture was then cooled, after which the crystals which precipitated were collected by filtration and then recrystallized from ethanol to give 3.44 g of the title compound as pale yellow prisms melting at 208°-210° C.
