A solution of 3.05 g of ethyl α-[4-(2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-3-oxo-1,2,4-triazin-6-yl)phenoxy]acetate [prepared as described in Example 15(b) or (c) above] and 2.13 g of 2-(1-piperazinyl)ethylamine dissolved in 50 ml of ethanol was heated under reflux for 24 hours, whilst stirring. At the end of this time, the crystals which precipitated were collected by filtration and recrystallized from ethanol, to give 3 g of the title compound as colorless fine crystals melting at 177°-180° C.
