6-Chloropyrimidin-4-amine 7-2 (0.4 g, 3.09 mmol) and diisopropylethylamine (0.399 g, 3.09 mmol) were suspended in n-butanol. tert-Butyl 1,4-diazepane-1-carboxylate 15-1 (0.618 g, 3.09 mmol) was then added. The reaction was stirred at 150° C. for 18 hours and then the product was filtered off, washed with n-butanol and ethyl ether and then air dried. 1H-NMR (CD3OD): 7.95 ppm (s, 1H); 5.65 ppm (s, 1H); 3.73 ppm (m, 2H); 3.61 ppm (m, 3H); 3.55 ppm (t, 1H); 3.38 ppm (m, 1H); 3.34 ppm (m, 1H); 1.89 ppm (m, 1H); 1.84 ppm (m, 1H); 1.41 ppm (s, 4H); 1.36 ppm (s, 5H).
