Procedure
6-Acetylamino-2-[(dimethylamino)methylidene]-1-tetralone (4.90 g, 0.017 mol) obtained in Example 41-1) was suspended in pyrrolidine (25 ml), which was refluxed with heating for 2 hours. The crystallized product was collected by filtration, washed with a mixed solution of ethyl acetate and n-hexane (1:1), to give 6-acetylamino-2-(1-pyrrolidinylmethylidene)-1-tetralone (5.03 g) as yellow crystals.
