Procedure

To a solution of the sulphide of example 107 (150 mg, 0.38 mmol) in 1,1,1,3,3,3-Hexafluoro-propan-2-ol (5 ml) was added a 30% aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide (0.09 ml). The resulting reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour before partitioning with aqueous sodium sulfite. The organic layer was washed with brine, dried (MgSO4), filtered and evaporated. The resulting residue was purified by column chromatography on silica gel using dichloromethane: Methanol: 0.880 ammonia (95:5:0.5) as eluant, to afford the title compound as an off-white foam (64 mg)
