2-Amino-5-chloro-benzoic acid (0.702 g, 4.09 mmol) was coupled with 2-Amino-3-(4-bromo-phenyl)-propionic acid methyl ester hydrochloride (1 g, 4.09 mmol) using HBTU (1.86 g, 4.908 mmol) and diisopropylethylamine (1.32 ml, 10.22 mmol) as per general procedure A to yield the 2-(2-amino-5-chloro-benzoylamino)-3-(4-bromo-phenyl)-propionic acid methyl ester in 60% yield.
