5-(3,4,5,6-Tetramethoxy-2-methylbenzyl)-2-(4-pyridyl)benzoic acid (100 mg, 0.2364 mmol) and morpholine (44 mg, 0.5057 mmol) were dissolved in methylene chloride (20 ml), then WSC-HCl (122 mg, 0.6364 mmol) was added thereto and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 6 hours. The reaction solution was washed with water and dried and the solvent was evaporated therefrom. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (5% methanol-methylene chloride) to give the title compound (102 mg, 0.2073 mmol, 88%).
