To a suspension of N-{4-[2-(4-aminophenyl)ethyl]-1,3-thiazol-2-yl}acetamide (100 mg) in toluene were added tert-butyl (2-bromoethyl)carbamate (87.5 mg) and N,N-diisopropylethylamine (52 μl), and the mixture was stirred at 80° C. for 24 h. The reaction mixture was allowed to cool to room temperature, water (10 ml) was added, and the organic layer was separated, washed with saturated aqueous NaCl, dried over MgSO4, filtered, and concentrated in vacuo to give tert-butyl {2-[(4-{2-[2-(acetylamino)-1,3-thiazol-4-yl]ethyl}phenyl)amino]ethyl}carbamate as a pale brown amorphous.
